Expanded Universe beasts: Ewoks and Droids

So my next custom figure is going to be a Hanadak from the Ewoks t.v. series! I've already made a lesser bordok and a lantern bird. With the new Wicket coming soon complete with his series II hood and Belt of Honor, he needs a Hanadak to take on. For reference, I'm using this pic

as references. I plan for it to be roughly 6 inches in height, or about scale to the Ewoks. How about anyone else? anyone made any critters for Droids or Ewoks?

I look forward to seeing your progress - I take it you'll be using something like a Wampa as a base for the custom? Do you plan on sculpting the head or trying to find something that looks similar to it?

I'm currently working on a custom Dulok for the YakFace.com customizing challenge - its going to be in realistic form, I'll be sure to post it here as well.

Ooo! Hadn't thought of using a Wampa body as a base. Good idea. I was planning on using a grizzly bear from Papo's line of animal figurines. It doesn't look very bear like in it's stance, more like a Hanadak. But a Wampa...it could be articulated! As for the face, I'd planned on using a "Mangler" figure from Hasbro's short lived Congo figures, based on the movie. Cut the face of the ugly gorilla off, glue it to the grizzly or Wampa body, sculpt a mane around the shoulders, and you've got a Handak! I'll paint it to resemble the purplish one in the series, with wicked slicing claws.
I'm really anxious to see your custom Dulok. I've wanted to try making a realistic Dulok for a while now, just have never gotten around to it yet. Good luck with your project.
